Volunteers have an essential role at the Home helping staff with many different jobs and activities. If you have a specific skill then please . Dog walking volunteer
Letting our dogs go for walks exercises their minds and their bodies. Walks depend on the dog, but can last for 30 to 60 minutes. For details click here
Cat cuddling volunteer
Help to relax and comfort stressed and under-socialised cats. Experience with cats is essential. For details click here
Small animal volunteer
Help with handling, socialising and grooming rabbits, ferrets, mice, rats, gerbils and hamsters. Experience handling small animals is essential. For details click here
Kitten fosterer volunteer
Take a family of kittens into your own home until they are ready to be re-homed. You will need a spare room and someone home most of the day. We will provide food, litter and support. For more information please
Weekend visitor desk volunteer
Help man the front reception desk during our busiest time providing advice and directions to visitors. A cheerful disposition is desirable. Training will be provided.
Charity shop volunteer
Our in-house shop Paw Store and the Frome charity shop both need volunteers. You will be sorting donations, pricing stock, helping customers, operating the till and providing friendly conversation. For current vacancies check here or
Maintenance volunteer
The site and grounds always needs attention, so if you are a qualified plumber, electrician or carpenter our maintenance staff need your support. There are other general jobs including painting and gardening, especially in the spring and summer for grass cutting. If you are interested please .
Fundraising volunteer
You can help at events or in the office.
At events we need help manning stalls, serving teas and helping with activities such as face painting. In the office we need help with stuffing envelopes, filing and counting money. For current vacancies check here or
Group volunteering
Community volunteering is great for our larger projects. Your group of colleagues or club members could paint a whole kennel in a day or sorting out our food donations.
